Flash Flood Warning remains for all low-lying flood prone areas of the Western and interior of Viti Levu

A Flood Warning remains in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of Ba, Nasivi (Tavua) and Nakauvadra (Rakiraki) Rivers while a Flood Alert is in force for flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of all major rivers in Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a Flash Flood Warning remains for all low-lying flood prone areas of the Western and interior of Viti Levu including Momi to Nadi, Lautoka, Ba through Tavua, interior Ra and Tailevu North.

The say a Heavy Rain Warning remains for the whole of Viti Levu, Yasawa and Mamanuca Groups, Beqa, Vatulele, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups and is now in force for Rotuma and the rest of Fiji.

The Weather Office says rainfall recorded in the last 6 hours ranges from 16mm to 34mm in the western division and this will impact flooding in drains, small streams, roads, properties and low-lying areas.

The water level at Ba FSC Station is 1.95m which is below warning level and decreasing while water level at Nakauvadra Town Centre Station is 2.59m which is above warning level and increasing.

An active trough of low pressure which is associated with clouds and rain continues to affect the country while another active trough of low pressure which is associated with rain is expected to affect the group from the west tomorrow and gradually spread to the rest of the country until Sunday.
