Five men and a woman believed to be selling drugs have been taken into custody following joint raids conducted by Divisional Task forces, Fiji Police Dog Unit, and Fiji Detector Dog Unit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu says a 36-year-old man was arrested in Tacirua after a zip lock bag and a container containing several sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana was allegedly found in his possession.

Police say another joint raid conducted in Tacirua Heights resulted in the arrest of two men and a woman.

Police had cordoned off the area upon arrival at the suspect’s home.

The first suspect then tried to evade arrest by jumping onto the neighbor's roof but was arrested by an officer, while the other woman suspect tried to dispose of two bags containing green leaves believed to be marijuana.

A further search conducted in the home resulted in the discovery of sachets of drugs believed to be marijuana under a mat.

All three suspects have been taken into custody at the Valelevu Police Station.

ACP Driu says an early morning raid conducted yesterday by the Southern Division Narcotics and the Fiji Police Dog Unit resulted in the arrest of two men in Wainibuku after they were allegedly found with several zip-lock plastic bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and several sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

All seized substances have been sent for analysis as investigations continue.
