Emergency services rushed to Auckland Airport after a fire broke out on board an incoming flight last Friday.
According to RNZ, ambulances were on standby as the aircraft—identified as a Qantas flight from Sydney—landed safely just before midday.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) said they were alerted to the emergency at 11.05am on Friday morning.
In a statement, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson confirmed they had received reports of a fire on board the Qantas flight.
Operations at the airfield began returning to normal around midday, although some departing and arriving flights experienced minor delays.
A total of 16 fire trucks from across the Auckland area responded to the incident.
