Shree Satsang Ramayan Mandali from Fiji led by Akhilesh Prasad, represented our country in the International Ramayan Festival in Ayodhya.

A self-confessed Ramleela veteran, Manik Bishnoi told Times of India that the Fijian actors on stage were pure magic, but now that department of culture has set such high standards, he hopes Prasad and his team go a notch higher next year.

Bishnoi says he used to watch Ramleela sitting on his grandmother’s lap as a child, and since then, he has watched so many episodes of Ram’s life that he has lost count.

The week long Ramleela Utsav ended on Saturday.

The international event, which was organised at Ravindra Bhawan, saw many gifted artists from countries including Thailand and Malaysia perform on the same stage where talented ethnic artists presented Ram Katha with utmost dedication.

The cherry on the cake was the powerful presentation by Fijian artists, wherein they charmed the audience with their acting and deep understanding of the Ramayana.
