Taxpayers in Fiji can now enjoy faster, more efficient tax payments with the launch of a real-time e-payment system through a partnership between the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and BRED Bank.

FRCS Chief Executive Officer Udit Singh says this innovative service allows taxpayers to make instant payments online, enabling quicker processing, reduced costs and better cash flow management for individuals and businesses.

He says as taxpayers in Fiji use digital technology in more and more areas of their work, the introduction of the real-time e-payment service will be very beneficial to them.

Singh says the real-time payment system, developed under a Memorandum of Agreement signed with BRED Bank CEO Pierre Tastet, integrates with the Taxpayer Online Service to provide secure and immediate updates on payments.

He says taxpayers can now log into their BRED Bank online portals anytime, anywhere to make payments, which will be reflected instantly in FRCS’s system and taxpayer ledgers.

He adds that they wish to extend similar services to other banks in Fiji, ensuring more taxpayers benefit from this digital transformation.

Meanwhile, BRED Bank CEO Pierre Tastet says governments and businesses around the globe are moving away from legacy payment systems towards new platforms that can deliver payment services in a fast, safe and convenient manner.

He says the financial landscape of transferring money and making payments has significantly evolved over the years and such investments do not come easy or cheap.
