Fijiana go down swinging 19-35 against Australia

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side went down swinging 19-35 against a composed and resilient Australia side in their cup quarterfinal at the HSBC Vancouver SVNS.

Australia seemed to be scoring at will as they ran in seven converted tries to Madison Levi, Tia Hinds, Kaitlin Shave, and Faith Nathan.

The Fijiana were able to get some points on the board with tries to debutant Heleina Young, Reapi Uluinasau and Raijieli Daveua.

The Fijiana put on an impressive performance as they ran in six tries to beat Japan 36-12 in their last pool game at the HSBC SVNS in Vancouver.

In their other pool games the Fijiana were beaten 21-17 by the USA before they lost 26-12 to Australia.

The women’s cup semifinals are at 7.59am tomorrow with the final at 12.43pm tomorrow afternoon.
