Quarter-final qualification is now the goal for the Rooster Chicken Fijiana 15’s following their 21-17 victory against South Africa.

An incredible game of rugby that the Fijiana dominated for long periods was only settled in the dying seconds as Karalaini Naisewa scored under the posts.

The Fijiana now brace for a strong French team who are already being rated as the favourite to join England in the top two from Pool C.

However, the Fijiana are expected to see some of their key players back this week and coach Senirusi Seruvakula says the team have gained a lot of confidence from their win last weekend.

The top two teams from each pool automatically progress to the quarterfinals, along with the two best-third-placed teams. At this stage Italy, the USA or Wales look more likely to sneak in ahead of Fiji.

The Fijiana will take on France at 6.15pm Saturday.
