With the Women’s Rugby World Cup approaching, Vodafone Fijiana XV Head Coach Ioan Cunningham says exposing as many players as possible in tournaments like the Oceania Championship is crucial for building towards the global event.
Cunningham highlighted this noting that he dropped three players from the Oceania Championship squad and brought in some 7s players to add depth and broaden his selection options.
He clarified that those players have not been dropped permanently, but he is assessing all his options before finalizing the 32-member squad for the World Cup.
The Fijiana XVs will take on the USA Women at 6.05am this Sunday in Washington, D.C.
