Fijiana 7s finishes 5th in LA 7s after 46-14 win over GB in 5th place playoffs

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side has finished 5th in the HSBC Los Angeles 7s, thrashing Great Britain 46-14 in the 5th place playoff this morning.

Vika Nakacia was the toast of the Fijiana side after scoring a hattrick in the first half of the match.

Fijiana took a comfortable 29-7 lead at halftime through tries from Silika Qalo, Nakacia, and Verenaisi Ditavutu, while Katie Shillaker scored the only try in the first spell for GB.

Sesenieli Donu, Ditavutu and Mere Vocevoce scored three more tries for the Fijiana 7s in the second half, while GB only managed to score another try through Heather Cowell.

The Women’s semi finals are currently underway with the Cup Final to be played at 12.05pm today.

The Men’s semi finals will kick off at 8.24am with the Cup Final to be played at 12.41pm today.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side succumbed to their 4th straight loss of the HSBC Los Angeles 7s after losing 31-19 to Great Britain in the 7th place playoff this morning.
