Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s Captain Raijieli Daveua has pleaded with the fans to keep supporting and believing in the team as they work towards improving their performance for the remainder of the HSBC SVNS World Series and also as they look forward to the Paris Olympics this year.

After leading her side to a 5th-place finish at the Hong Kong 7s tonight, Daveua says though they lost in the cup quarter final, they managed to come back stronger and claim the 5th spot.

She says it was all about mental toughness and how to read the game well and they will look to improve on these areas heading into final tournaments of the Series.

Daveua says all in all, it was a good performance from the team this weekend and she is proud of how they played.

Fijiana came back from a disappointing quarter final loss to beat Canada 19-15 in the 5th-place playoff tonight.

Meanwhile, The Fiji Men’s 7s also finished 5th at the Hong Kong 7s after defeating South Africa 33-14 in the 5th place play-off.
