The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will play South Africa in the Cup semifinal of the Vancouver 7s at 10.08 this morning.
Fiji beat USA in a thrilling quarterfinal by 31-26 earlier this morning.
The Ben Ryan coached side was down 19-5 at halftime.
Ryan then challenged his players at half time to step up and reminded them about the Olympic Games.
Kitione Taliga stepped up again in the second half as he scored the second try.
Osea Kolinisau then scored the third try to level the score at 19-all.
USA’s Perry Baker then hit back and scored America’s fourth try with just over a minute remaining.
Taliga then set up the third try for Jasa Veremalua to level the score at 26-all at fulltime.
The game then went into sudden death.
Savenaca Rawaca received a timely pass from Kitione Taliga to score at the corner as the national side marched into the semifinals to meet South Africa.
In other quarters, South Africa thrashed Wales 31-0, NZ beat Samoa 17-12 while Australia beat Scotland 24-17.
NZ will meet Australia in the second Cup semifinal at 10.30 this morning.
The Cup final will be held at 1pm today.
