The Fiji Under-16 national football team has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the OFC Under-16 Men’s Championship with a commanding 5-0 win over the Cook Islands at Lawson Tama Stadium in the Solomon Islands.
The Junior Bula Boys were in top form right from the start, with Saula Muatini scoring in just the 4th minute.
Captain Maikah Dau doubled their lead in the 36th minute with a penalty, Ryan Achari added a third in first-half extra time, and moments later, Muatini struck again to make it 4-0 at half-time.
They remained in full control after the break, with Achari scoring his second goal in the 70th minute.
With this victory, Fiji remain unbeaten in Group A.
They will face Papua New Guinea at 1pm on Saturday, needing only a draw to finish top of the group.
