Fiji receives another 40 oxygen machines from the New Zealand Government

The Ministry of Health has today received another 40 Airvo hiflow oxygen machines from the New Zealand Government.

This brings the total of Airvo oxygen machines donated by New Zealand to 80.

While receiving the machines, Minister of Health, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete says he has seen the effectiveness of the machine.

Dr. Waqainabete says the fact New Zealand who have committed to providing these machines enables the Ministry to provide oxygenation to patients with respiratory illness.

The machines will be used at hospitals around the country.

The donation is worth 1.5 million dollars.

New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Fiji, Johnathan Curr says as a development partner New Zealand is delighted to provide Fiji with the world leading respiratory equipment.

Curr also paid tribute to Fiji’s efforts in containing and eradicating COVID-19.
