Fiji out to deliver an improved performance in Dubai after not winning any tournaments last season

Double Olympic gold medal winners, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team are out to deliver an improved performance in Dubai this weekend in the new format HSBC SVNS series which kicks off this afternoon.

This is after a disappointing series last year where they did not win any tournament.

The Ben Gollings coached side will take on USA at 6.06 tonight in their first pool game before facing France at 9.52 tonight. They then play Great Britain at 4am tomorrow in their final pool match.

South Africa are the defending Dubai men’s champion with Australia also looking to defend their women’s title this year.

The cup quarter finals will begin at 6.58pm tomorrow, the cup semi finals will kick off at 10.04pm tomorrow and the final will be at 3.53am Monday.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team will take on Great Britain at 5.44 this afternoon and then play South Africa at 8.43 tonight in their second pool match before taking on New Zealand at 1.35am tomorrow.

The Women’s Cup quarter finals will kick off at 5.30pm tomorrow, the semi finals will be at 9.20pm tomorrow and the final will be at 3.13am Monday.
