The Fiji Airways National 7s team have to get their act together when they take on Ireland at 7.05pm in their Dubai 7s quarter final if they want to have a chance of breaking their 18 month drought.

Fiji have not won a series tournament since Toulouse in May 2022.

The Joseva Talacolo captained side was on fire in their pool games downing the USA 21-14, running riot over France 40-5 but falling short to Great Britain who shut them out 24-0.

Terio Tamani looked dangerous in the France game as he scored a hat-trick of tries to go with his four conversions.

In other cup quarter finals, defending Dubai champions South Africa take on Australia at 6.58pm, the USA play New Zealand at 7.42pm while Samoa face Argentina at 8.04pm.

The Men’s cup semi finals kick off at 10.04 tonight while the cup final is at 3.53am tomorrow.

The Fiji Airways Fijiana play France at 6.14 tonight in the third cup quarter final, New Zealand faces Brazil at 5.30pm, Ireland meet Canada at 5.52pm and the USA play defending Dubai champions Australia at 6.36pm.

The Saiasi Fuli coached side started off well to overcome Great Britain 38-17, beating South Africa 21-17 before losing to New Zealand 29-21 in their final pool match.

The women’s semi finals start at 9.20 tonight while the cup final is at 3.13am tomorrow.
