The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side has topped its pool after claiming their third win at the Los Angeles 7s with a 14-10 victory over France this morning.

Both teams scored two tries each but the successful conversions by Fiji made the difference with France missing both the conversions to their two tries.

France scored the first try through Jordan Sepho in the first minute to lead 5-0.

The French lost their chances of extending their lead after a great defensive effort from Fiji holding the ball up and forcing France to knock the ball on at the try line.

Ponipate Loganimasi scored a converted try in the 5th minute to give Fiji a 7-5 lead.

Fiji held onto the slight 7-5 lead at the break.

Filipe Sauturaga extended Fiji’s lead to 14-5 with a converted try in the 9th minute before France replied with an unconverted try in the 12th minute to Nelson Epee to close the gap to 14-10.

Fiji held on in defence in the final minute to claim the win.
