The Fijian Government has allocated land in Suva for Papua New Guinea to establish an embassy while PNG Prime Minister, James Marape also revealed that the PNG Government has in turn allocated land, for Fiji to establish their embassy in Port Moresby.

This has been confirmed following talks Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and Marape in Port Moresby.

Marape says they have indicated that an outstanding support to Fiji since 2015, would be given to start construction of the embassy to consolidate their presence in both countries.

Marape says the COVID-19 pandemic had caused some Fijians working in PNG, to return home to their country but they are now back in PNG.

He also confirms PNG has appointed a High Commissioner Ambassador Designate.

Bilateral talks between the two leaders also covered educational opportunities and ratification for climate change amongst other shared challenges in both countries.
