The Fiji Rugby Players' Association aims to build a comprehensive pathway for education and empowerment, from grassroots to professional levels and life after rugby.

This was shared by the Association’s Chairman, former Wallaby and FIJI Water Flying Fijians coach, Ilivasi Tabua, during an interview with fijivillage News.

The Fiji Rugby Players' Association was established with the goal of empowering young athletes to become strong, capable citizens beyond the rugby field.

Tabua, who famously led Fiji to a Rugby World Cup quarterfinal against the Springboks in 2007, appeared alongside former Flying Fijians lock and Association Director, Wame Lewaravu, as chief guest for the discussion.

Known as the Human Skewer during his playing days with the Wallabies, Tabua said that Fiji has lacked a true Rugby Players' Association.

Tabua says there was previously a Civic Rugby Players Association; this newly formed body is the first of its kind, specifically dedicated to supporting players throughout their careers—from early development to retirement.
