The Fiji Muslim League has requested all Mosques and centers to pray for the wellbeing of 45 peacekeeping staff reportedly taken by rebels from their designated point of duty in Golan Heights.

In a statement, Fiji Muslim League President Hafizud Dean Khan said the organization and Fiji Muslims share the concern as the Fijian troops are serving in the peacekeeping capacity under UN mandate, any armed or hostile captivity of such personnel should not have happened.

Khan said Fiji Muslims pray that good sense will prevail and all earnest effort being made by responsible bodies will very soon yield positive outcome and safe return of our peacekeepers.
