The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side is now level on 32 points with South Africa and New Zealand on the World 7s Series points table after the Cape Town 7s.

Fiji clinched third place with a 26-19 win over France.

France got off to a strong start, with Andy Timo scoring the first try to lead 7-0, but Fiji bounced back quickly, with Terio Veilawa crossing for their first try.

Speedster Vuiviawa Naduvalo then broke through the French defence to score Fiji’s second try, giving them a 14-7 lead.

France fought back, with Liam Delamare scoring to tie the game 14-all at halftime.

In the second half, Fiji came out firing.

Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Manueli Maisamoa each scored a try, pushing Fiji to a 26-14 lead.

Simon Desert scored for France, but it wasn’t enough to change the result.

Coach Osea Kolinisau says the team wasn’t consistent enough, but he was happy they earned points in their final game.

He also admitted mistakes were made against Argentina and said they would work on them before the next tournament.

South Africa leads the series on points difference after retaining their Cape Town 7s title with a 21-19 win over Argentina in the final.

Fiji picked up 16 points, while New Zealand collected 12 after finishing fifth.

France sits fourth with 28 points, Australia fifth with 26, and Argentina sixth with 24.

The next tournament is the Singapore 7s that will be held on January 31st and February 1st 2026.
