Association President, Doctor Basharat Munshi.

The Fiji Medical Association is currently in the process of speaking to the Fiji Medical Council in relation to a person who claims to be a doctor from Lautoka and is spreading false information about the COVID-19 vaccines.

The doctor from Lautoka claimed on the facebook video and talked about falsehoods like the vaccine is the mark to be controlled, it is for a one world government and it is for population control.

Association President, Doctor Basharat Munshi says no doubt this person needs help but she has done a lot of damage by spreading these falsehoods.

Doctor Munshi says this is a sad situation and people should not believe these conspiracy theories.

He stresses the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and will protect people from severe sickness and hospitalisation.

When contacted by fijivillage, the Lautoka doctor says she does not know Doctor Munshi and no one has contacted her.

Her facebook video post has been declared as false information and facebook says it has been checked by independent fact checkers.
