The Fiji Hotel & Tourism Association, representing private sector stakeholders in the tourism industry, congratulates the newly elected Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka and the incoming Fijian government.

The Association thanks the outgoing Government for their achievements in steering Fiji through the pandemic, enhancing the economic welfare and national security.

FHTA Chief Executive Officer, Fantasha Lockington says the association looks forward to working closely with the Government in advancing Fiji’s tourism industry to its pre-eminent position in the region.

Lockington says great strides had been made to ensure that tourism could survive the border closures and enable its revival after the 1st December, 2021, reopening and are optimistic that this can continue given that the industry remains the country’s largest GDP earner pre and post-pandemic.

She says the Association maintains its stand as an apolitical body but reaffirms its desire to continue working closely with the government of the day.

FHTA wishes a successful tenure for all the elected representatives and supports for their principles of serving with integrity, fairness, and respect for the rule of law and the people of Fiji.
