The Fiji Corrections Service today launched their 150th anniversary celebrations, marking years of dedicated service, discipline, and transformation since 1874.

Acting Commissioner of Corrections, Sevuloni Naucukidi says this milestone is a testament to the commitment of all officers past and present, who have served with integrity and to the continued mission of the Service in rehabilitation, restoration, and reintegration.

Naucukidi says as they commemorate this historic occasion, they are inviting the public to join them in celebrating their progress, purpose, and partnership.

President of Ex-Servicemen for Corrections, Sairusi Gauna reminded officers that their calling is vital for the safety of those in remand, and they need to show patience and perseverance while carrying out their duties.

The theme for the celebration is 150 Years of Service and Transformation.

The week-long celebration will begin next Sunday.
