Society’s Program Manager, Darisha Datt says they have so far collected 84 blankets to help cancer patients keep warm during this cold weather.

The Fiji Cancer Society says their blanket drive is for cancer patients however they do not turn away other patients who need blankets since the collection is for those who need it the most.

Society’s Program Manager, Darisha Datt says they have so far collected 84 blankets to help cancer patients keep warm during this cold weather.

Datt says distribution of the blankets will officially commence next month however their nurses take blankets for the patients during home visits.

She adds cancer patients and survivors who need blankets can also collect a blanket each from the Society’s offices in Suva and Lautoka.

Datt says they deliver blankets for patients who are being looked after in their homes or some other location.

She adds they also give blankets to children in the pediatric unit at the CWM Hospital especially those suffering from cancer.

Blankets can be dropped off at Fiji Cancer Society’s office opposite the CWM Maternity Unit at Waimanu Road in Suva. People can also contact them on 9986127 for more information.

People in the Western Division who want to donate blankets can contact Margie Erbsleben on 9962115.
