Fiji Airways Group has received a second brand new VIKING DHC‑6 Series 400 aircraft for Fiji Link.
While speaking at the arrival of the Twin Otter DHC‑6 SERIES aircraft, Fiji Airways Group Chief Financial Officer Nick Caine says that Fiji Airways Group values the contribution of each aircraft across both fleets of its network.
He adds that it's crucial for the Fiji Airways Group to have aircrafts with the versatility to land on various terrain.
Caine has also reiterated that the Twin Otter is the aircraft of choice for Fiji Link's operations as it is well‑suited to our domestic operating environment made up of smaller airports, varying types of runaways and short airstrips.
He says that a bigger fleet will allow Fiji Airways to increase capacity, grow their network, and provide a better customer experience with state of the art, modern aircraft flying the Fijian skies adding that with more aircraft, they will be able to increase their frequencies to key domestic routes, particularly to the North, by 30%.
Caine has also revealed that additionally, they plan to increase our flight frequency on their trunk route, between Nadi and Suva, to seven a day.
He has also revealed that a third Twin Otter will join their fleet next month.
