Fiji 7s squad for Commonwealth Games to be named this week

Expect some familiar faces to return to the Fiji Airways National 7s team when coach Ben Gollings names his squad for the Commonwealth Games.

Fiji Rugby Union CEO John O’Connor confirms Olympic gold medalists Aminiasi Tuimaba and Savenaca Rawaca are currently training with the extended squad while Sireli Maqala who had a training stint with the team last week has returned to France and will join the camp in England.

Former Fiji 7s captain Paula Dranisinukula and Sevuloni Mocenacagi are also part of the training squad.

Gollings is expected to finalise his squad on Wednesday.

The team will leave the country next Monday for a pre-camp in England. The 7s competition will take place from 30th July to 1st August.
