The 44-year-old farmer who allegedly assaulted a man which resulted in his death, has been charged with one count of murder and will be produced in the Labasa Magistrates Court today.
Police say early Thursday morning, the man was found heavily intoxicated outside a nightclub in Labasa, and Police escorted the man to his home.
They say, during the day, the victim started to develop breathing difficulties and was taken to the Labasa Hospital by family members, where the man passed away a few minutes later.
