A family of three who sustained serious injuries following the horrific stabbing case in Nadonumai in Lami on Saturday morning are still admitted at the CWM Hospital and are recovering well.

Police say the suspect stabbed a 2-year-old child who was sleeping and the child's parents before fleeing the scene.

They say the teenager who committed the alleged offence was found dead after allegedly taking his own life.

He also lived in Nadonumai and allegedly entered the home to commit burglary but was disturbed by one of the family members.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says they have recorded statements of the family members and are now awaiting the medical reports of the victims.

She says they are also awaiting the post mortem examination report of the teenager.
