A call is being made to return a specialised Avanti bike of a 16-year-old boy that was stolen from Albert Park this morning.

The boy is preparing to take part in the upcoming Commonwealth Youth Games.

The mother of the boy, Elizabeth Younge says her son was doing a 10 kilometres trial and the bike was left at the footpath and it was stolen from there.

She adds they have reported the matter to police and are hopeful that they are able to find the bike.
