A family which has been assisting struggling families during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Fiji is having a small Christmas celebration with sandwiches and juice as they want to continue with the assistance during this festive season.

Asinate Sigati started her baking business in February this year to support her family financially but with the high income and engagement she has been having, she is using 10 percent of her profit to assist other families who are facing hardships due to the pandemic.

Sigati says this year has been one of the most challenging years in Fiji, with many people becoming unemployed due to the effects of COVID-19.

She says because they have been receiving a lot of blessings this year, they will continue to assist others who are struggling.

She adds what she saw on the faces of family members they have assisted is priceless as they were welcoming and grateful when they dropped off the assistance.

Sigati says they will go out again this Christmas to deliver food packs and gift packs to struggling families so they can have a festive Christmas celebration.
