It was a night to remember for the Kumar family after witnessing their hard work come to fruition as their new company, Reliable Engineering PTE Ltd, at Valelevu opened.

Reliable Engineering PTE Ltd is a company that conducts stainless and mild steel works, sheet metal ducting, and retailing.

Managing Director Arvin Kumar says the idea of starting a business came from his wife, and he is grateful that his wife supported and stood by his side throughout their journey.

He says currently, they have seven employees and are looking to increase this number to 15 by the end of the month.

Kumar says they invested about $500,000 into the new company.

He adds they have about $250,000 of work and are looking to capitalise on it.

The Managing Director also hopes to open another shop in the North.

While officiating at the opening of the new company, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Professor Biman Prasad acknowledged the dedication and contribution put in by the Kumar family as the business will employ more people as it grows.

He says the contribution of small businesses is huge because sometimes we only think that big businesses create jobs.

Professor Prasad adds that businesses such as this contribute immensely towards the nation.
