A family is living in fear at Saqali Place in Nawanawa Road, Nasinu after they were attacked by some people last night.

Two of the family members have also received injuries.

A woman has told Fijivillage the six people, some of whom looked drunk were crossing their compound at around 9.45 last night and started swearing at their dog who was barking.

She says when her husband questioned the six on why they were swearing, two men then came towards the house and forcefully entered their house.

During the confrontation, her husband and brother-in-law were assaulted and received injuries on their faces.

She says four other men who were standing outside threw stones at their house and car whereby the railing of their house has also been damaged.

The woman says they called Valelevu Police Station and were told by an officer that their vehicle is in Kinoya and will respond after attending a case.

She says they then called the Police Headquarters and officers arrived at their home around one hour after they started calling Police.

They are also calling for police patrols in their area as according to her, they no longer feel safe at Saqali Place and are thinking of moving out of their house.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says at times Police can be attending to many reports at once and the complainant will be advised as was in this case and that is when they ask for assistance from the closest Police Station or Unit.

Naisoro says in this case investigators are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the assault as the victim and one of the suspects know each other as they are neighbours and they had allegedly argued over some issues before the incident occurred.

She says the matter is under investigation.
