Around 46 families in the Vunicagi lockdown area in Dreketi were provided with food packs yesterday.

Assistant Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Jale Sigarara who received foods packs from the Seaqaqa District Advisory Council members says blessed are those who give as it shows the comradeship that we share.

Sigarara thanked everyone who gave what little they had during this pandemic to help those families.

Chairman of Seaqaqa District Advisory Council, Larkhan Kumar says the initiative is to support the Government during these trying times.

Kumar says government cannot fight COVID-19 alone, as it is a holistic approach where we should all work together to overcome this crisis.

Mahesh Nabirhan who lives within the Vunicagi lockdown area acknowledged the tireless effort shown by the government and different agencies.

Nabirhan says some of them are not well off and they are so fortunate to receive this assistance of food packs.

He says that being one of the small scale farmers and to be provided with this assistance is really a blessing for them.
