Valekau Family celebrate Christmas at the My Suva Park.

A number of families celebrated Christmas at the My Suva Park today as they reflected on the challenges that were brought on by 2020.

Anaseini Koro says while they are celebrating Christmas in Suva they have also sent some money and relief items to their families in Lau who have been affected by TC Yasa so they can also celebrate.

She says this year was one of the toughest year’s for them with the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of the year and TC Yasa.

Aisea Lagi says their initial plan was to go to his village in Kadavu but due to the cyclone, they had to settle for plan B.

He says they are also thinking of their friends and families who have been affected by TC Yasa and the pandemic.

Inoke Detevola says Christmas is about celebrating the goodness of God in their lives.

Detevola says they understand that some of their families in Bua are struggling because of the devastation by TC Yasa and they hope this Christmas will be a new beginning for them.
