12 mothers and their children who have been struggling with malnutrition and are attending dietary clinics in Nadi are now part of a healthy food program organised by the Foundation for Rural Integrated Enterprises and Development or FRIEND.

FRIEND founder and CEO, Sashi Kiran says this program will continue for the next 6 months in partnership with dieticians as they try and support mothers in planning nutritious meal options.

She says children will be monitored during this program to assess their well-being and growth.

Kiran says mothers were given various recipe demonstrations and meal plans for next month.

Kiran says they have also launched some high protein locally made snack bars which mothers can give to their children.
