Acting CEO, Viliame Vodonaivalu.

The Fiji National Provident Fund has extended the deadline for contribution payments to 31 May 2021, in response to the lockdown restrictions.

FNPF says they understand many businesses were shut down to comply with the lockdown and this has affected their cash flow and ability to submit contribution payments for their staff.

Acting CEO, Viliame Vodonaivalu says employers had been given an extension until yesterday to pay April contributions for their staff, however, given the new containment dates, the Fund has now extended the payment deadline to the end of May.

He says they appreciate the efforts of employers in terms of assisting their staff to apply for the lockdown relief and hope that this extension will also provide some relief for them.

Vodonaivalu says to qualify for the extension and penalty waiver, employers were required to submit their contribution schedules to the Fund by 30 April.

Meanwhile, from next Wednesday, the Fund’s opening hours will be from 8.30am to 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3pm on Friday’s.

He says they are encouraging the members and employers to continue to engage with them through their digital platforms for everyone’s safety.
