Fiji Labour Party Leader and General Secretary of the National Farmers Union, Mahendra Chaudhry

Fiji Labour Party Leader and General Secretary of the National Farmers Union, Mahendra Chaudhry says as owners of major resources such as land and minerals, it is unfortunate that the indigenous people have largely remained poor.

While speaking at the Ba Provincial Holdings Company Limited’s AGM, Chaudhry says getting the indigenous community into the mainstream of the Fijian economy has been a long term goal of FLP.

Chaudhry says the main reason for this state of affairs is the lack of capital and expertise which has left their resources open to exploitation by developers.

He says despite many businesses struggling to survive due to the pandemic, people must do the they best they can to turn things around and expand Ba Provincial Holdings Ltd.
