FEO senior Managers during the Risk Management Workshop

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says the Fijian Elections Office is now making preparations and plans for risks when it comes to election activities.

The FEO today conducted its Election Risk Management Workshop which was facilitated by the FEO Director Operations, Anaseini Senimoli.

Saneem says in 2018, one of the most notorious examples was when the polling venues in Nausori area were flooded due to heavy rain and polling had to be postponed.

He says the senior Managers and Coordinators of FEO today explored various types of risks associated with each of their election activities and looked up various instruments of contingency and backup planning that will be necessary to ensure the delivery of the election operations is unaffected should there be any risk.

The general election can be held anytime between 9 July 2022 and 9 January 2023.
