The Fijian Elections Office is in the final stages of completing payments to all elections officials who worked on elections day.

This was revealed by Acting Director for Strategic Development and Communications Edwin Nand during a press conference in the last hour.

Nand says as of today a total of 9,595 individual salaries have been processed which is a 100 percent completion rate.

He says the Fijian Elections Office has sent out text messages to all staff once their salaries have been sent to their respective bank accounts.

However, Nand says that they are mindful of the fact that some election officials who have changed their bank details and is urging them to provide their updated bank details so that the Fijian Elections Office can execute the payments.

Nand says in the Central Division, these elections officials can contact the Elections Office on 9984029, 8913867, 8917768 and 8493451.

He says in the Western Division the contact numbers are 8913868, and 8917339.

In the Eastern Division they are 8910856 and 8917758.

For the Northern Division the contact numbers are 8910857 and 2203911.

Nand says for the staff who were involved in counting they can call 8910185, 8913769, 8913768

He highlighted that there are currently about 131 bank accounts which are either incorrect or the accounts have been closed.

Nand says should these details be received at the earliest, the Fijian Elections Office expects to fully complete the payments of elections officials.

He revealed that after FNPF deductions the Presiding Officers will receive $381.20, Assistant Presiding Officers will receive $298.40 and polling day workers $168.80 and venue cue controllers $155.92 .

He says this pay is inclusive of the allowance for attending the final refresher training before election day.
