Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission CEO Joel Abraham

Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission CEO Joel Abraham is urging people to come forward with information regarding pyramid schemes.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Abraham says whether you have been participating in a group called Elite Society, AIM Global Fiji or Empowered Consumerism please reach out to the FCCC or any other member of the anti-scam task force and he has assured that they will receive the complaint.

When questioned about how much money people stand to lose, Abraham says it depends on how wide the pyramid goes where they have seen it go as high as millions of dollars or in the thousands.

He says they are also looking at payment modalities and how money is being shifted and this is where the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Reserve Bank of Fiji comes in handy.

The CEO says those who have joined such schemes, he is asking them to play their part by coming up with relevant information which will enable them to quickly get a hold of what the scheme is about.
