Following concerns regarding the high prices of vegetables, the FCCC is looking into the agriculture sector to ensure that prices are what they are supposed to be and are not manipulated.

While responding to questions on fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, FCCC CEO Joel Abraham says they are looking at the whole supply chain to ensure nobody is picking more than their share because there can be an inequality of bargaining power.

He says they are trying to understand if the farmers are being paid adequately if the middlemen are cashing out on it, and if there is equity in the whole supply chain.

He says they have some competition concerns around these purchasing practices.
