Extra Supermarket customers can now have an hour of free WiFi service by scanning the QR code displayed on the shopping carts and other strategic locations around the supermarket.

The recently opened Extra Supermarket in Laucala Beach Estate is the first to offer the free WiFi service to its customers.

The Chief Operating Officer of Extra Supermarket, Abhishek Abhimannu says WiFi connectivity in-store is important as it can be used by their customers to check the best supermarket deals, research the ingredients for a cooking recipe or chat with loved ones while shopping.

Telecom Fiji Manager Marketing, Berlinda Williams says it is important for the company to provide digitally enabled products to positively impact the lives of many Fijians.

She says wherever people go, they connect online when they are shopping, working, or enjoying moments with loved ones and the WiFi services ensures that they keep up with how people connect today.

Extra Supermarket plans to roll out the Free WiFi service to its Flagstaff and Lautoka outlets soon.
