The Department of Environment is looking into a case where rubbish is being dumped by a group of people in an empty plot in Wailoku.

In videos posted on social media, it can be seen that some men are dumping rubbish from a truck on a slope.

Wailoku resident, Tikiko Korocowiri says this is not the first time they have dumped the rubbish as they do it regularly.

He says there is an industrial area behind his house and alleges that a particular company dumps the rubbish every month.

Korocowiri says they usually dump rubbish such as white goods, plastic waste and cartons.

He says he has not filed a formal complaint with the police or the Department of Environment however he is calling on the authorities to take action and get the area cleaned.

Questions have been sent to Police. They are yet to respond to our questions.
