Emily King has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS).
FRCS says King, who is currently serving as General Counsel at the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), will serve a three-year term effective from 30th September 2025.
FRCS Chief Executive Officer, Udit Singh, welcomed King to the Board, saying she brings a wealth of expertise and fresh perspectives that will significantly contribute to the strategic direction and governance of FRCS.
He says her diverse skill set will strengthen their Board and enhance their ability to deliver on their strategic goals as they continue their journey towards excelling in revenue collection, border protection, and the facilitation of trade and travel.
Singh says King is a distinguished corporate lawyer with over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector and leading legal firms in Fiji.
Her career has been marked by excellence in advisory and commercial transactions, and she has successfully led legal teams with integrity and professionalism.
Beyond her legal expertise, King has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, governance, and anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism financing.
She currently serves as General Counsel at the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF), specializing in mergers, acquisitions, and finance.
King is no stranger to boardrooms, having served as Company Secretary and as a member of Board Audit, Risk, and Compliance Committees for various private entities.
She has also contributed significantly to industry bodies, including her role as Chairperson of the Insurance Association of Fiji in 2023 and as a Council Member of the Fiji Law Society for three consecutive terms from 2016 to 2021.
She recently completed a Juris Doctor bridging course at the University of Melbourne.
Stepping up to the role, King says she is deeply honoured to join the Board of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and extends her sincere gratitude to the Board and the Minister for Finance for this opportunity.
She says she accepts the position with humility and a strong sense of responsibility to the people of Fiji.
She adds that she is committed to upholding the values of transparency, accountability, and service excellence, and looks forward to working collaboratively with the Board and management to support FRCS in its mission to serve taxpayers and strengthen national revenue systems.
