A taxi driver in his 70s has passed following an accident along the Buca Bay Road in Savusavu this morning.
Police say the man was heading towards Savusavu Town when he failed to negotiate a bend resulting in his vehicle veering off road.
He was rushed to the Savusavu Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post mortem will be conducted to ascertain cause of death.
The road death toll currently stands at 14 compared to 9 for the same period last year.
