Elderly people do not deserve to be left at old age homes as they are our blessings – USP Linguist

Elderly people do not deserve to be left at old age homes as they are our blessings – USP Linguist

No elderly person should join any old age home when they feel that their lives have stopped because their families have decided to stop taking care of them.

This was highlighted by USP Linguist Rajendra Prasad while officiating the Shree Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha Diwali celebration at the Golden Age Home in Samabula.

Prasad says there is no use praying to the goddess or spending money on other things when our elders are not cared for.

He says he seeks forgiveness from all the residents and says their right place is in their own homes and not the Golden Age Home.

Prasad says Diwali is a time of joy and sharing, and is a sign of the triumph of light over darkness and goodness over evil, and is also a time to celebrate life while taking blessings from the elders.

Golden Age Home Samabula Director thanked the Sanatan Dharam Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji for supporting the 48 elderly residents at the Golden Age Home in Samabula.

He says considering the age of the residents, he believes they are surrounded by a lot of knowledge and experience of life.
