Chelsea handed Nottingham Forest a 3–0 defeat in the Premier League at the City Ground, resulting in the sacking of Forest manager Ange Postecoglou just 19 minutes after the final whistle.
The 60-year-old departs after only 39 days in charge and eight winless matches, having taken over from Nuno Espírito Santo last month.
Forest looked promising in the first half but failed to capitalise on several scoring chances, and the teams went into the break locked at nil–all.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca made key changes during the break, with the visitors taking control in the second half where Josh Acheampong scored the first goal, followed by goals from Neto and Reece James to seal a comfortable win.
Frustration mounted in the stands as Forest fans voiced their anger towards Postecoglou after a rapid substitution, while club owner Evangelos Marinakis was visibly upset and left his seat before the final whistle.
The result leaves Forest without a win in the league and raises questions about the club’s stability following the latest managerial change.
In other Premier League results, Brighton defeated Newcastle 2–1, Arsenal beat Fulham 1–0, Manchester City defeated Everton 2–0, Burnley defeated Leeds 2-0, Sunderland beat Wolves 2-0, while Crystal Palace and Bournemouth settled for 3-all draw.
