E-commerce plays critical role in business marketing - Chand

E-commerce plays a critical role in a small nation like Fiji when business marketing is involved.

This was highlighted by the General Manager of Business Assistance Fiji, Ramesh Chand, as they conducted an e-commerce workshop for small and medium enterprises today.

Chand says people still depend on primitive ways of advertising and marketing their businesses.

He says the e-commerce workshop will allow entrepreneurs to understand social media branding and managing platforms using easy planning and online tools.

He also emphasized that SMEs contribute to almost 60 percent of employment in Fiji.

Chand further adds that they will also carry out this workshop in other divisions to create awareness of the importance of e-commerce.

Salma Khan, who owns her nursery, says it is a great opportunity for her as she knows very little about online advertising and marketing.

Khan says she is excited to learn about the opportunities ahead of her.

She adds the learning will help to expand her business on various online platforms that will allow her earn to a few more dollars.
