Dudley High School has caused one of the biggest upsets in the Vodafone Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby competition after defeating favourites, Marist Brothers High School 17-10 in the second semi final of the under 14 grade this morning.
Dudley held a slight 7-5 lead at the break as both teams scored a try each in the first half, with the conversion making the difference.
Dudley scored a further 10 points in the second spell through two unconverted tries, while Marist scored 1 unconverted try for the final score.
They will now take on Suva Grammar School in the under 14 final after Grammar thumped Nasinu Secondary School 27-5 in the first semi final.
Meanwhile, in other matches played this morning, in the under 15, Grammar edged Marist 11-5 to book a place in the final, and in the under 17, Grammar was awarded the win against Nasinu Secondary after the game ended in a 35-all draw, but Grammar had scored the most converted tries.
