Dubai 7s: Fijiana 7s finish 5th defeating Ireland 24-19

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side finished in 5th place in the Dubai 7s after defeating Ireland 24-19 in the fifth-place playoff.

Reapi Uluinasau and Ana Maria Naimasi scored a try each to give Fiji a 14-point lead in the first half.

Emily Lane and Beibhinn Parsons crossed over the try line to close the gap to 2 points before the break.

Naimasi scored his second try in the second half to give Fiji a 19-12 lead, but Vicki Elmes Kinlan managed to get one back for the Irish side to put the match into extra time.

Ilisapeci Delaiwau crossed over the try line in extra time to give the Fijian girls the win.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will take on Australia in the Women's final at 3.13am tomorrow.
